New Castle-Henry County Public Library works alongside the Indiana State Library to provide interlibrary loan services through Evergreen Indiana, allowing patrons to borrow materials from other libraries from around the state. The State Library is changing delivery services for interlibrary lending. This necessitates a pause in interlibrary loans from now until approximately September 10. During this time, patrons will not be able to request materials from other libraries.
New Castle-Henry County Public Library cardholders can drive to another Evergreen Indiana library to pick up materials during this transition period. New Castle-Henry County Public Library will not receive any interlibrary loan deliveries during the week of September 4. Patrons who have been waiting for something to come in will experience some delays. The State Library intends to have all services restored by October 1.
“We appreciate our patrons’ patience and understanding as we work through this situation,” noted Library Director Winnie Logan. “Thankfully the State Library is returning to their original courier service which should help us provide the level of interlibrary loan opportunities that our community has come to expect.”
