Hoopla is app based. There are Android and IOS apps available, or you can get it on your computer. It’s also available on Chromecast, Roku, Firetv, Androidtv, and Apple T.V. Winnie Logan, New Castle-Henry County Public Library Director enjoys Hoopla on her Kindle Fire. She shared, “I find it easy to use. It’s a really great audiobook and music resource. It has lots of neat, new stuff, and it is great on my Kindle Fire.”
One unique aspect of Hoopla is that it is simultaneous use. Unlike other programs, everyone can have the same copy of an ebook or audiobook. There is no wait for a title to become available. If it is in Hoopla, then it is always available.
There is a limit to how much content can be accessed. Each library card can have up to 5 free titles from Hoopla on it at a time. Once a new month starts, 5 more checkouts become available.
Hoopla is a very exciting and user-friendly entertainment option during this time. According to the website, “Hoopla is like having your public library at your fingertips. Anytime. Anywhere.”
