Curbside Service Update

Curbside Pickup

The New Castle-Henry County Public Library is open and providing all of our regular services and continues to provide the convenience of curbside pickup.

To get library materials for curbside pickup, you first need to place a hold on the books, DVDs, or other library materials that you would like to check out.

You can place holds by phone. Call the Main Circulation desk at 765-529-0362 x1341 and tell a staff member which library materials you would like to place on hold. Even if you don’t know the exact title or author, our staff will be glad to help you find your next favorite book or movie.

To place holds online, click on the Evergreen Indiana link on the library’s homepage. Login to your account, select the materials you would like to check out and place them on hold. Be sure to indicate your pickup location as New Castle-Henry County Public Library. Your PIN is the last four digits of the telephone number you used to sign up for your card.

Evergreen Indiana has a new app that is a quick and convenient way to place holds.

You will be notified by phone, text or email, depending on which option you choose while placing your hold.  Once you receive the message that your hold is waiting, you can come to the library anytime we are open to pick up your library materials.

Bring your library card and photo identification. If you are having someone else pick up your materials for you, that person will need to have your library card and their photo identification.

Park in the “Curbside Pickup” spot located in the parking lot near the north side of the building.

Call the number on the sign and tell the staff your name. Staff will double-check your library card number through your vehicle’s window. There is no need to roll down your window.

You can return books in the book drop. Staff will not be able to take materials directly from you.

Library materials will be placed in the trunk of your car in a plastic bag. In order to operate as safely as possible, our staff will be wearing face coverings.

If you have any questions about this service or have problems accessing your library account, please call 765-529-0362 ext. 1341 or email the library at
