The New Castle-Henry County Public Library will host two author talks at New Castle Middle School featuring accomplished authors Mina Starsiak-Hawk and Mindy McGinnis.
The first talk is scheduled for July 20 and will feature Mina Starsiak-Hawk from the HGTV show “Good Bones.” Starsiak-Hawk is also the author of the children’s book Built Together. During her talk, the first 100 registered attendees on EventBrite will receive a free copy of this book. Independent bookstore Kids Ink Children’s Bookstore from Indianapolis will be on-site selling books. After her presentation, Starsiak-Hawk will be signing books for audience members.
The second talk will take place on September 21 and will feature Mindy McGinnis. McGinnis is a prolific Young Adult author and winner of the 2022 Eliot Rosewater Indiana High School Book Award. The first 100 registered attendees will receive free copies of McGinnis’s book Heroine. Wild Geese Bookshop will be on-site to sell books, with the author signing after the talk.
Teen and Adult Services Librarian Krystal Stanich has this to say on the series: “Author talks are magical experiences–I’ve loved every single one I’ve attended. This is a dream come true to be able to connect our community with bestselling authors.”
The Henry County Author Talks series is in partnership with the New Castle High School, New Castle Middle School and Friends of Bundy Auditorium and sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Library Board of Directors.
New Castle-Henry County Public Library encourages anyone interested in attending the author talks to follow the library on Facebook. Tickets will be available through Eventbrite one month prior to the events.
